Loon WoodBlock Print

I created this print in my printmaking class at Montana State University. I used the woodblock printing method to create it. The prompt was to follow an artists we liked and try to create something among their style in B&W. I chose Claire Emery, she focus on animals and landscapes mostly in color.

The Process
Woodblock printing involves carving a design into a wooden block, leaving raised areas that will receive ink. These raised areas transfer the image to paper when pressed together, while carved-away areas remain blank. It's a relief printing technique that produces bold, graphic images.
